learn to read music and learn all variety of scales
Description
I want to understand the language of music much better, and play more interesting pieces on the bass. I'd like to eventually graduate from illiterate rock and roll guy to someone who play more challenging pieces. Perhaps --- dare I dream -- even a few bars of the Bach cello suites one day. It will take persistence and consistency to do this.

by McFirrin F. about 1 year ago am working on chords for the bass. Kind of tough, but not too bad. Am guessing it will take two months to really, really get them down.

am weak, unbelievably, reciting notes aloud as I run up and down the neck.
perhaps I work in patterns and sounds too much, and to prepare for reading need to work in names more.
am doing full cycle of modes -- speaking each note aloud as I play it. Am kind of shocked that it's difficult, but it is coming along.
